A single-vehicle crash in Santa Ana resulted in the deaths of five people, including three teenagers, with a fourth teen critically injured.
A violent late-night crash occurred in Santa Ana on Saturday, April 6, 2025, involving six people in one car. The crash happened when the 18-year-old male driver, traveling at a high speed, missed a turn and collided with a tree on West Segerstrom Avenue.
Six people were in the car: five females and one male. Four victims were pronounced dead at the scene, a fifth died at a nearby hospital, and the sixth remains in critical condition.
April 8, 2025 Update: According to the Patch, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Gerard McCann told City News Service that the victims identified were 17-year-old Natalia Vidal Zarate, 18-year-old Emanuel Gonzalez Martinez, and 20-year-old Arely Robles, all of Santa Ana. Arely Robles’ sister survived but remains in critical condition.
The victims knew each other through school. A GoFundMe has been set up to help the families with the costs.
Two victims were ejected from the car during the crash. A nearby black sedan sustained minor damage, but no one in that vehicle was injured. Officer Natalie Garcia of the Santa Ana Police Department confirmed that four of the victims were teenagers, and two were adults.
