Son of Former NBA Star in Tesla Crash and Induced Coma

Alijah Arenas cyber truck crash in LA

Alijah Arenas, the 18-year-old son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, has been placed into an induced coma following a serious car crash involving his Tesla Cybertruck in Los Angeles.

The accident occurred early on Thursday morning, with the Tesla Cybertruck reportedly left “mangled” on the side of the road. Emergency responders arrived at the scene at 4:55 AM, where the front of the vehicle was on fire.

Alijah was out of the car when authorities arrived, but it is unclear if anyone else was inside. He is a five-star basketball prospect committed to playing at USC next season and recently participated in the McDonald’s All-American Game. He attended Chatsworth High School in LA.

Update: As of Friday, April 25th, his family said he is out of the coma, and while he is still intubated, he was able to communicate to them by writing on a piece of paper, “Was anybody hurt?”

His family remains optimistic about his recovery. The newly released video below shows the scene of the burning Cybertruck after the crash in Los Angeles.
