Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has issued a vehicle defect recall for 198,731 of its 2017 to 2019 Chrysler Pacifica minivans because they may lose power steering or stall because of improperly installed wiring. According to an article on Consumer Reports, if a vehicle stalls. Only Chrysler Pacifica vehicles with engine stop/start systems, which automatically shut off the engine when the vehicle stops, are included in this recall. The automaker says it is not aware of any car accidents or injuries as a result of this issue. The recall includes certain 2017-2019 Chrysler Pacifica minivans manufactured from Oct. 11, 2016, through Nov. 20, 2018.

Because of a manufacturing defect, a wiring connection may become loose over time. As a result the vehicle may stall or lose its power steering. When the recall begins the end of June, dealers will disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble the connection as needed, at no charge to vehicle owners.
