Santa Ana police are looking for a hit-and-run suspect after a man was found bleeding in the road early morning March 22. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the victim, who has not yet been identified, was found dead by the Orange County Fire Authority on East Goetz Street in Santa Ana. Evidence at the scene suggested that the man was struck while riding his bicycle. The death is being investigated as a possible hit and run. California Highway Patrol officials are looking for the driver of an Infiniti that was caught on video causing a violent crash, which left a BMW wedged under a semi truck on the 10 Freeway in Colton. According to a KTLA news report, the crash occurred at about 3 p.m. on August 9, 2017 on the westbound 10 between the Riverside and Pepper avenues exits. Road Rage Results in Fatal San Bernardino Bicycle Accident

A driver was arrested early morning on July 15, 2017 after he fled the scene of a fatal Newport Beach bicycle accident, officials said. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred when a vehicle struck a pair of bicyclists on northbound Newport Boulevard near Industrial Way. One of the bicyclists, identified as 41-year-old Jose Vasquez-Perez, was killed. It is not clear how badly the other cyclist was injured.

California Highway Patrol officials are looking for a motorcyclist who was captured on video as he kicked a vehicle on the 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita triggering a chain-reaction car accident that left a driver injured. According to the Los Angeles Times, the wild 22-second clip of the apparent road rage incident has gone viral. It shows the motorcyclist kicking the driver’s side of a sedan in the southbound carpool lane of the freeway. The sedan then veers left sideswiping the motorcycle. The sedan driver then appears to lose control and swerves right across double-yellow lines slamming into the freeway divider. …Read the rest »

Witnesses in Hesperia helped track down a suspected after a hit-and-run crash that killed a 15-year-old boy identified as Moises Chequete. According to a Victor Valley News report, the incident occurred the morning of June 15, 2017. Moises was walking alone north along Santa Fe Avenue when a blue 1992 Chevy Corsica driven by 20-year-old Benjamin Jordan Harrity struck him from behind and failed to stop and render aid to the victim. Woman Arrested in Fatal Riverside County Hit and Run Crash

54 People Lost Their Lives in Los Angeles Hit and Run Crashes in 2018

Deborah Marie Salzar, 55, was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident in Beaumont that killed 53-year-old Sandra Kay Todd. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, Salazar was arrested at her home on a warrant that was issued May 22. Officials said she was negotiating the terms of her arrest because of her medical condition. She has been charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and hit and run causing injury or death. The driver failed to remain at the scene.

The fatal pedestrian accident occurred the evening of December 23, 2016. Police officers found Todd lying on the railroad tracks near Fourth Street and California Avenue. The victim was suffering injuries consistent with being hit by a car. She was hospitalized in critical condition but later succumbed to her injuries.

A DUI suspect who was involved in a hit-and-run crash in San Ysidro that severely injured a 6-year-old boy had been deported from the U.S. at least 15 times, officials said. According to a news report in the San Diego Union Tribune, Constantino Banda-Acosta, 38, was last deported Jan. 18 with at least 14 prior cases since 2002. Police say Banda-Acosta was speeding west on Camino de La Plaza and ran a stop sign on Dairy Mart Road, slamming his pickup truck into a Honda Accord. He then fled the scene. …Read the rest »

Chris Soules, an alum of the popular ABC show, “The Bachelor,” was arrested in Iowa following a deadly hit-and-run car accident. According to a news report on Variety.com, Soules, who starred on season 19 of the hit series, was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal car accident, which is a Class D felony punishable by five years in prison. The 35-year-old Soules was not charged with driving under the influence although TMZ obtained court documents that allegedly show he was in possession of alcoholic beverage containers at the time of the crash.

Soules reportedly rear-ended a John Deere tractor with his pickup truck, a 2008 Chevy Silverado, near Aurora in Buchanan County the night of April 24, 2017. Both vehicles, which were going south at the time of the crash, ended up in …Read the rest »

Police in Los Angeles are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a woman, identified as Alicia Bello, as she carried her 2-year-old son across the street in El Sereno. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the fatal incident occurred the evening of February 22, 2017 on Alhambra Avenue. Police say Bello, 32, was standing in the middle of the roadway when a westbound vehicle struck her. Dennis Rodman Charged with Hit and Run in Santa Ana Injury Crash

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman has been charged with hit-and-run, stemming from a Santa Ana car accident back in July. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Rodman was charged with one misdemeanor count each of hit-and-run with property damage, driving across a dividing section, providing false information and driving without a valid license. If convicted, he faces up to two years in county jail. California Highway Patrol officials had recommended the charges be filed against Rodman who had at an appearance in August called the reports of the crash “hearsay.”

Prosecutors say that Rodman, 55, was driving an SUV north in the southbound carpool lane of the 5 Freeway. Rodman is accused of driving head-on toward a sedan causing the driver of the sedan to swerve and crash into a dividing wall. CHP officials said the sedan’s driver called 911 and told officers that Rodman got back in his SUV after the crash and headed southbound without exchanging information. …Read the rest »
