Car Accident in Buena Park Leaves Three Injured

By Brian Chase on November 2, 2016 - No comments

A man and a woman in their 50s suffered serious injuries in a Buena Park car accident. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the crash occurred the afternoon of November 1, 2016 at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Auto Center Drive. The incident involved three vehicles and three victims, all in separate cars. Police said two of the victims suffered major trauma and a third suffered relatively minor injuries. None of the injuries is life threatening. Alcohol or drugs don’t appear to be a factor. Buena Park police are investigating this accident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all who were injured. We wish them the very best for a speedy and complete recovery.

Car Accident Statistics

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2013 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), three deaths and 385 injuries were reported as a result of car accidents in the city of Buena Park. In Orange County as a whole, 165 people died and 13,837 were injured in traffic accidents during the same year.

Causes and Compensation Issues

Based on this news report, it appears that this three-car accident occurred at a large, busy street intersection, which is monitored by traffic lights. We trust officials are looking into what caused this three-car collision to occur. Did one of the drivers run a red light at the intersection? Did one of the motorists fail to yield the right-of-way or make an unsafe turn at the intersection? Did alcohol, drugs, excessive speed or recklessness play a part in this collision?

The aftermath of a car accident can be physically, emotionally and financially challenging for not just victims, but also their family members. Injured victims are looking at mounting medical expenses, lost income as a result of missed work, and potential rehabilitation costs, which may not be covered by medical insurance.

In such cases, negligent motorists can be held accountable for the damages they cause. This is why it is critical to file and obtain a copy of the police report and take other critical steps such as getting photographs of the scene, contacts for eyewitnesses and securing prompt medical attention. An experienced Orange County car accident lawyer will be able to help you seek and obtain maximum compensation for all your losses.
