What you should do when a dog bites is of course, first getting medical attention - that's foremost. As far as a bog bite claim goes, what's important is identifying the dog, and identifying the owner. Taking pictures of the wounds is huge because a picture tells a thousand words and a wound doesn't look so bad six months after its healed up, but it looks really bad in the beginning. An insurance judge or a jury is never going to understand how bad the bite was unless you have early photographs.
