The brain, one of the largest, and most complex organs in the human body, weighs approximately three pounds, and is made up of 100 billion nerve cells. It not only controls processes like thinking, and movement, but also body functions such as digestion and breathing.

When this happens, it can result in nerve fibers being torn and bleeding in and around the brain. This damage to brain tissue is known as traumatic brain injury or TBI. Even though TBI is a devastating illness, traumatic brain injury recovery can be possible, to some extent, at least.
