J. Michael McClure -Million Dollar Newport Beach California Personal Injury Attorney
25 Years of Professional Excellence
As an accomplished California personal injury attorney, Michael's passion is representing the people most in need of legal representation in matters of serious or fatal injuries. J. Michael McClure will tell you his greatest professional thrill comes from seeing to it that justice is done, seeing a client or a family get the compensation they are due and seeing to it that a wrongdoer is held accountable for the injuries they have caused, especially when that wrongdoer is a powerful corporation or governmental agency.
"Call me Michael"When speaking of his relationship with clients, McClure states, "I feel like each of my clients are family members. Members of my tribe that I am entrusted with their care. What happens to them is important to me. The battles I wage for them are very personal. Their well being is my duty and responsibility." He insists on his clients calling him, "Michael". "I want them to be comfortable with me so that we have a high level of trust and so that I can really get to know them and their situation. After all, we're family," says Michael.
The Making of a Great AttorneyBorn in Groton, Connecticut, Michael grew up in Havre de Grace, Maryland until he ventured to Denton, Texas, where he earned his B.A. from North Texas State University. Shortly after graduating, Michael moved to Southern California to open the first T.G.I. Friday's in Marina Del Rey. While working at Friday's he attended the University of West Los Angeles School of Law where he was a Moot Court Semi-Finalist. In 1986, he earned his Juris Doctor degree and passed the California State Bar.
Legal AccomplishmentsMichael's compassionate and determined philosophy has led him to win numerous cases. Notably, he obtained a 12-0 jury verdict in a $3.9 million burn case, and was instrumental in convincing a jury in another matter of the comparative negligence of a City resulting in a $7 million verdict for a brain injured plaintiff. He has tried over 35 jury trials to verdict.
Along with Michael's many accomplishments, one of the most prestigious was his being granted membership to The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an esteemed professional organization with exclusive membership limited only to the most impressive trial attorneys.
Going Above and BeyondMr. McClure not only uses his experience and expertise to represent the seriously injured but he also makes time to participate in pro bono work and community service. Michael was on the Bay Harbor Hospital Board of Trustees, has been a Los Angeles County Judicial Arbitrator since 1992 and was a presenter at a "Masters in Trial" presentation for The American Board of Trial Advocates.
Most recently, Michael volunteered his services to Orange County's youth by participating in UCI's semi-finals of their national mock trial competition. J. Michael McClure was the presiding judge over the mock trial which involved product defects issues, an area of immense familiarity to Michael. Through these mock trials, students are able to expand their courtroom skills and knowledge, ultimately helping them prepare to be an attorney. Michael said, "It was fun and very rewarding." It is this type of community involvement that makes Michael a unique and devoted attorney.
