Breyer Law Offices Arizona Personal Injury Attorneys
Arizona's Husband and Wife Law Team, Alexis and Mark Breyer, say they have seen too many hit-and-run drivers get away with the crime . . . so they are doing something about it.
Alexis and Mark Breyer, known throughout Arizona as the Husband and Wife Law Team, were saddened to see yet another victim of a hit and run when a Peoria teen lost his life over the weekend. As prominent injury lawyers, they have seen far too many serious injuries caused by hit-and-run accidents over the years. Now, they have decided to launch a statewide program to help catch the people who leave the scene of an accident.
To encourage witnesses to help, The Husband and Wife Law Team have started a state-wide "tip line" that offers a $1,000 reward for every tip that leads to a felony conviction. The tip line is completely anonymous, keeping contributors safe and uninvolved. Witnesses only need to call 800-6-Hit-N-Run to submit tips and they are disseminated to law enforcement. Lines are available in English and Spanish.
Attorney Mark Breyer was asked about why they decided to put up their own money to help solve some of these crimes. "We just got tired of seeing so many people get away with the unacceptable and selfish action of not only causing an accident, but leaving the scene. We decided it was time to do more than just talk about it. We hope that the anonymous tip line and $1,000 reward will bring people to justice and ultimately discourage people from leaving the scene of an injury accident."
The problem of hit-and-run driving is a serious one. Last year in Arizona, over 800 individuals lost their lives in car accidents across the state (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Fatality Analysis Reporting System 2009). Nationwide, nearly 30% of drivers involved in fatal crashes have no license, and over 50% of those drivers had fled the scene of an accident. (AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety 2008).
