Evaluating Car Insurance Options - GEICO
Picking the right car insurance provider is challenging in every aspect; something that is so important to your family's safety and security can make a very difficult decision feel impossible. GEICO hasn't had the worst history with their clients, but just like all the others, they have some noticeable blemishes on their records. GEICO is very comfortable going up against those who sue for compensation, they have been perfecting the art of denying and low-balling claims for years.
The Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway that, as of 2007, provided coverage for more than ten million motor vehicles owned by more than nine million policy holders. You are most likely familiar with their gecko or caveman advertisements aimed to entice people to switch to GEICO because it is easy. If you have received catastrophic injuries from a serious car accident, you know that easy is the least important part of obtaining car accident insurance.

GEICO in the News
Although GEICO is far from the best when it comes to paying victims of catastrophic injuries, they haven't been all bad. They recently released an article on their website that encourages parents to remind teens about dangers of distractions as Homecoming season winds down. This list included using cell phones for emergencies only, limiting your number of passengers, staying focused while driving, always wearing your seat belt, and not driving while under the influence.
In other news, GEICO has been accused in a proposed class-action suit of "deceptively selling" auto insurance policies by failing to tell some of its policyholders the legal amount of uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage they were required to buy. The Suit alleges that GEICO breached its fiduciary duty, insurance law, and the Consumer Fraud Act, according to a New Jersey Law Journal Report.
GEICO Car Accidents
Trying to receive compensation after a debilitating car accident is never easy; the insurance adjuster's job is to get the most money as possible, no matter what happens to you. These may seem like harsh words, but having worked in personal injury for over thirty years I know it as a fact. If you are trying to obtain compensation from GEICO, it would be wise to consult a personal injury attorney. A good personal injury lawyer will offer a free consultation and will give you all the information you need to decide on how you would like to move forward.
