According to OCTLA's website, the group was formed in 1963 when a few plaintiffs' attorneys got together to share information about the challenges they were facing and to exchange various tips and strategies to cope with those challenges. OCTLA is governed by an elected board of directors and executive officers that include the president, president-elect, vice presidents, treasurer, parliamentarian and immediate past president. Officers and board members are elected for a one-year term. OCTLA has been quick to recognize and honor its own members many of whom are distinguished trial attorneys who have won nationwide acclaim for their work as outstanding trial lawyers.
