Truck Accident in Los Angeles Causes Injuries

By Personal Injury Lawyer on August 7, 2010 - No comments

A truck accident in the Santa Clarita area of Los Angeles resulted in injuries for three people. The Santa Clarita Signal reports that the injury collision occurred the morning of July 30, 2010 on the Interstate 5 near Valencia Boulevard. California Highway Patrol officials say a small passenger vehicle was wedged between two semi-trucks. It is not known which vehicles the injured victims were in. An investigation is ongoing.

The incident resulted in major injuries to one of the victims who was transported to a trauma center. I pray that these injured victims recover swiftly and fully. They will be in my prayers.

Truck Accidents

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA), truck accident statistics, there were 304 fatal truck accidents and 3,196 injury crashes involving truck accidents, in California, in 2008. In Los Angeles County, 667 people died and 52,229 were injured as a result of car accidents during the same year.

Causes and Liability Issues

This news article presents more questions than answers at this point. How did the accident occur? Whose fault was the crash? Did one of the large trucks rear-end the passenger car, pushing it into the other semi-truck? If that was the case, what caused the rear-end collision? Was this accident the result of an intoxicated, distracted or otherwise negligent truck driver?

Injured victims in such cases would be well-advised to consult an experienced Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all aspects of the crash and make sure that the negligent parties are held accountable. If the truck driver is determined to have been at-fault, both, the driver and his or her employer could be held liable for the victims' injuries. Injured victims in such cases can seek compensation to cover medical expenses, loss of wages, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation and other related damages. The best personal injury law firms will always offer a free and comprehensive consultation to injured victims and their families.
