BISNAR CHASE Files Two Lawsuits against Nissan over Defective Car Seats

The Newport Beach personal injury law firm of BISNAR CHASE has filed two auto products liability lawsuits against Nissan on behalf of one plaintiff who was rendered a permanent paraplegic, and family members of another victim who was killed. Both were involved in California car accidents where Nissan's defective seatbacks collapsed and caused the catastrophic and fatal injuries. The defective car seats in the Nissan vehicles in which these victims were traveling were the primary cause of the catastrophic injury and fatality.

Orange County Woman Killed in Ford Explorer Rollover Accident

A 50-year-old Cypress woman was killed in a Riverside car accident after the Ford Explorer she was driving blew a tire and overturned in the center median. According to a CBS news report, the fatal rollover crash occurred on the 15 Freeway near Corona, the night of November 11, 2011. The woman was traveling at about 70 mph when the Explorer's right rear tire blew out. She lost control of the vehicle, which then rolled over. The woman was ejected from the SUV. Officials suspect she was not wearing her seatbelt. The woman's husband, who was a passenger in the front seat, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation is ongoing.

Newport Beach Car Accident Causes Injuries

Motorcycle Accident in Newport BeachA motorcycle officer has been injured in a Newport Beach car accident, which occurred at a street intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury motorcycle accident occurred the morning of August 1, 2011 at the intersection of Jamboree Road and San Joaquin Hills Road. California Highway Patrol officials, who are investigating the incident, say the collision involved the motorcycle and a late model silver Mercedes four-door sedan. The officer was taken to a local hospital with a leg injury. An investigation is ongoing.

Orange County Car Accident Proves Fatal

Personal injury lawyer in Orange CountyA woman was killed in an Orange County car accident when her Toyota Camry crashed down an embankment, the afternoon of June 22, 2011. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal car crash occurred on Paseo del las Colinas at Star Drive in Laguna Niguel. The Camry was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it jumped the curb, went over a fence, down an embankment and fell onto train tracks. The woman was pronounced dead at the crash site. At least one vehicle was sideswiped before the car left the roadway. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash and why the woman appeared to not brake during the accident.

Kern County Rollover Accident Involves Possible Stop Sign Violation

Seven people were injured in a Bakersfield car accident involving two separate vehicles rolling over. According to an ABC news report, the rollover accident occurred at Lerdo Highway and Magnolia Avenue near Shafter the afternoon of April 24, 2011. Police say a white van went through a stop sign and struck a black SUV. Both vehicles rolled over and one person was ejected. Two victims suffered major injuries, two others sustained moderate injuries and the three victims suffered minor to moderate injuries. Investigators are trying to determine why the driver of the white van went through the stop sign.

My thoughts and prayers are with the many injured victims of this rollover accident. I wish them all the very best for a complete and speedy recovery.

Car Accident Statistics

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), two people were killed and 34 were injured in Shafter car accidents. During that same year, 103 fatalities and 3,460 injuries occurred involving car accidents in Kern County.

Possible Stop Sign Violation

It appears from the report that one of the motorists, the driver of the white van, failed to obey a stop sign. California law requires drivers to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and proceed with caution. According to California Vehicle Code Section 21802 (a): "The driver of any vehicle approaching a stop sign at the entrance to, or within, an intersection shall stop as required by Section 22450. The driver shall then yield the right-of-way to any vehicles which have approached from another highway, or which are approaching so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to those vehicles until he or she can proceed with reasonable safety." Ontario Rollover Accident Proves Fatal

Alta Marie Chriss, 51, was fatally injured in an Ontario car accident after she lost control of her car and crashed. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the fatal rollover accident occurred when Chriss' 2000 Chevy Malibu ran off the connector road between the southbound Interstate 15 and westbound Highway 60 and overturned. California Highway Patrol officials say the accident was discovered the morning of April 11, 2011, and that the Chevy had veered to the right, before going through the guardrail and rolling over. Officials say Chriss was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. An investigation is ongoing.

Orange County Man Killed in Fiery Car Accident

An Artesia man was killed in an Orange County car accident when his van caught fire. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal car accident occurred the night of January 11, 2011 on the westbound 91 Freeway near Knott Avenue in Buena Park. California Highway Patrol officials say the victim's 2003 Chevrolet van caught fire while he was driving at about 65 miles per hour. He swerved into the right shoulder wall and crashed into a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. It is unclear why his vehicle caught fire. An investigation is ongoing.

Hit-And-Run Car Accident in Riverside Proves Fatal

Marco Dimare, 41, was killed in a Riverside car accident, which police report, was caused by a hit-and-run driver on the night of December 1, 2010. According to a KPSP news article, the fatal car accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of the Interstate 10, near Whitewater. Dimare was driving an SUV when a speeding catering truck struck it. The SUV veered off the freeway and rolled over. The catering truck sped away. Dimare died at the scene. San Bernardino Car Accident Injures Five

Robert Valle, 22, sustained major injuries in a San Bernardino car accident after the vehicle in which he was a passenger was struck by a suspected drunk driver, the Victorville Daily Press reports. The injury collision occurred early morning on August 16, 2010 at the intersection of Sheep Creek and Nielson roads in Wrightwood. A Pontiac Grand Am, driven by 23-year-old Kala White made a left turn in front of a Chevy Tahoe that was traveling north on Sheep Creek. The driver of the Tahoe, 46-year-old Carmen Melendrez, another adult passenger and two children also sustained minor injuries. White fled the scene of the crash. Fatal Los Angeles Car Accident
