Woman Killed in San Francisco Area Car Accident

Ryan McKnight, 26, was killed in a San Francisco area car accident after her car collided with an SUV at a street intersection the evening of February 22, 2011. According to a CBS news report, the fatal car accident occurred on Highway 1 near Rossi Road in Pescadero. Police say McKnight, who was driving a Honda Civic, turned left in front of the northbound Chevy Suburban. McKnight was killed in the crash. Two passengers, including a 69-year-old woman and an 8-year-old boy, in the Suburban sustained moderate to major injuries in the car accident. Three other children in the Suburban escaped uninjured.

Pedestrian Killed by Suspected Drunk Driver

Scott Garrigan, 25, was killed in a hit-and-run car accident in Pacifica, which police say, involved a driver who was under the influence of alcohol. According to a news report in The San Francisco Chronicle, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the morning of February 20, 2011 on Skyline Boulevard near Sharp Park Road. Police found the victim in the southbound lanes of traffic. The driver of the vehicle, Leopoldo Tobilla, 57, initially left, but returned to the scene and told police that the pedestrian was walking in traffic lanes. Garrigan died at the scene of the car accident and Tobilla was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence resulting in a fatality, vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal injury accident.

Fatal San Francisco Car Accident Involves Suspected Red Light Violation

Leonid Stoliarov, 57, was killed in a San Francisco car accident, which police report, involved another driver running a red light. According to a news article in the San Francisco Chronicle, the fatal car accident occurred at the intersection of Geary and Arguello boulevards in San Francisco the morning of February 10, 2011. Police believe the 31-year-old driver of an Audi A4 ran a red light on Geary before crashing into a vehicle driven by Stoliarov, which was northbound on Arguello. Stoliarov was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries. Police have arrested the driver responsible for the accident but have not specified the charges he may face.

San Francisco Area Car Accident Proves Fatal

A 39-year-old man from Angwin was killed in a San Francisco area car accident when his 1995 Ford Mustang struck the back of a Geo Storm. According to a news report in KTVU San Francisco, the fatal car accident occurred on Petrified Forest Road in Sonoma early morning on February 1, 2011.

Police say the Mustang clipped the back of the Storm when the driver tried to pass the other vehicle at about 50 mph. Both drivers lost control of their cars and the driver of the Mustang was ejected from his vehicle. The Angwin man suffered fatal injuries and the driver of the Geo, John Dawes, 39, sustained major injuries. Police say alcohol was not a factor in this fatal car accident.

10-year-old Injured in San Francisco Area Car Accident

A pedestrian accident in Milpitas resulted in injuries for a 10-year-old girl the afternoon of January 5, 2011. KTVU News reports that the injury car accident occurred close to the intersection of Edsel Drive and Roswell Drive when two girls were walking in a marked crosswalk. One of the girls was hit by a school bus that was attempting a left turn. The girl was injured, but is expected to survive. Her friend escaped without any injuries. An investigation is ongoing.

It is indeed fortunate that the two children escaped without catastrophic injuries in this case. I wish the injured child a swift and full recovery. She will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Christmas Tree on Roadway Causes San Francisco Area Car Accident

One person sustained injuries in a San Francisco car accident after the person's vehicle struck a Christmas tree that was dumped on the roadway. According to a report in the San Jose Mercury News, the injury car accident occurred on Interstate 280 near state Highway 92 the morning of January 7, 2011. The driver, who was in an Acura, hit the abandoned tree. The vehicle then rolled over and went down an embankment. The driver sustained injuries, which officials say, are not life-threatening.

Dog Attack in San Jose Injures Elderly Man

Bob Ferguson, 78, was injured in a dog bite incident in San Jose when he was attacked while walking his own small dog. According to a news report in the San Jose Mercury News, the injury dog attack occurred on December 29, 2010 in the Blossom Hill neighborhood of San Jose. Two large dogs attacked Ferguson causing severe bite injuries to his left ear, head and arm. He was taken to the emergency room for treatment. Officials are investigating the incident as a dangerous dog attack. The boxer and Labrador that attacked Ferguson could be allowed to live if the owner buys liability insurance and takes strict measures to secure the dogs.

Car Accident Injures 6-year-old Girl

Leticia Vanessa Marquez, 6, was seriously injured in a San Francisco area car accident that involved five vehicles. According to a news report in The Santa Rosa Press Democrat the injury car accident occurred on Commerce Boulevard in Rohnert Park the morning of December 13, 2010. Richard Hutchinson, 60, drove his Toyota Highlander into the back of a Toyota Tacoma in which Leticia was a passenger. The accident created a chain reaction in which a total of five vehicles were damaged. Leticia sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

San Francisco Area Motorcycle Accident Injures Rider

A man was seriously injured in a San Francisco car accident after his motorcycle was hit by an SUV that was pulling out of a driveway. According to a news report in the San Jose Mercury News, the injury car accident occurred when the 22-year-old motorcyclist was traveling south on East Charleston Road in Palo Alto the evening of December 1, 2010.

Officials say the motorcyclist sped up to beat the red light at San Antonio Road when a Chevy Tahoe that was backing out of a gas station struck him. Police say that the injury bicycle accident occurred near the intersection of El Camino Real and Watkins Avenue in Atherton on November 30, 2010. The bicyclist was traveling north on El Camino Real when the 81-year-old driver of an Infiniti sedan veered off the roadway.
