Francis Torney, 86, died recently of injuries she suffered in an SUV rollover accident that occurred on December 18, 2009. According to a Bay City News report, Torney suffered a cervical fracture and other injuries in the Highway 101 crash when another driver made an unsafe lane change. California Highway Patrol officials said Torney was with two other women in an Isuzu SUV when 54-year-old William Stock, who was driving a 2002 BMW south on Highway 101, moved into the same lane as the Isuzu. San Diego Car Accident Injures Man
A 61-year-old man is in the hospital with serious personal injuries after a San Diego car accident on June 4, 2009 in Otay Mesa, San Diego, that caused one vehicle to roll over and another to break through a fence, 10news reports. The rollover car accident occurred in the 8000 block of Otay Mesa Road, San Diego police officials said. The 61-year-old victim, whose name was not released, and a 45-year-old man, were driving in separate cars eastbound when a third vehicle driven by a 22-year-old man approached from behind and slammed into the first two vehicles.
The younger driver, who was speeding at the time, struck the rear of the 61-year-old victim's car and then hit the 45-year-old man's car as well. The 61-year-old man's car rolled over several times while the other man's car crossed a center island and broke through a fence at Brown Field. The 61-year-old man was airlifted and taken to an area hospital for treatment of pelvic and neck fractures. However, officials added that the 61-year-old victim is under investigation for drunk driving. The remaining drivers complained of pain, but were not seriously injured. Read the rest »
