Gilbert Carranza, 58, was killed in a Los Angeles hit-and-run pedestrian accident the night of June 9, 2009. According to a news report on Daily Breeze's Web site, Inglewood police officials are looking for leads to find the driver who struck Carranza on Prairie Avenue near 107th Street. They believe a van -- possibly a 1995 or newer Ford Aerostar -- driving south, struck Carranza. The van should have sustained front-end damage, police say. Kevin Henry Sparks, 37, of San Bernardino was killed in a Riverside motorcycle accident, according to a news report in the Riverside Press Enterprise. Sparks was heading north on the Interstate 215 near Highway 74 the morning of April 26, 2009 when he drove off the freeway and hit a fence post in the field. Sparks was wearing a helmet at the time of the motorcycle crash. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of this fatal motorcycle accident is yet to be determined.
