Kathleen Blair, 41, of San Pedro was killed in a Long Beach car accident after the motorcycle on which she was a passenger, was struck by a vehicle. According to a City News Service report, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred in the southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway at Willow Street, the afternoon of September 26, 2011. Blair was a passenger on a 2004 Harley Davidson driven by 46-year-old Darrin E. Metzger. Officials say Metzger was riding the motorcycle at a high rate of speed and making unsafe lane changes. The collision apparently occurred as Metzger straddled the number one and two lanes in an attempt to pass a Nissan Murano and a big rig. The motorcycle struck the Murano. Both Metzger and Blair were ejected on impact. Blair was run over by the big rig. An investigation is ongoing.

Two Injured in Whittier Motorcycle Accident
A 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were injured in a Whittier car accident after they were struck by a car making a left turn at a street intersection. According to a report in the Whittier Daily News, the serious injury accident occurred at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and College Avenue in Whittier, the afternoon of September 17, 2011. The man and woman were on the motorcycle when a Honda Accord turned left in front of them. The victims sustained numerous broken bones, cuts and abrasions. It is unclear if the 21-year-old female driver of the Accord will be cited for the crash.
Los Angeles Car Accident Leaves Two Dead
Jonathan Paul Nyerges, 29, of Temple City and Richard Oster, 75, of Arcadia, were killed in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, involved a car and a motorcycle. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Palm Drive in Arcadia, the afternoon of September 1, 2011.
Officials say Oster was driving an SUV, west on Palm Drive, when it collided with a motorcycle driven by Nyerges, which was northbound on Baldwin Avenue. The collision caused the SUV to overturn. Nyerges was pronounced dead at the scene. Oster was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Officials are investigating the cause of this fatal crash.
Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Reseda Car Accident
Joseph Frazier, 28, of Northridge was critically injured in a Los Angeles car accident after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle making a left turn. According to a City News Service report, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred the night of August 25, 2011, at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue in Reseda.
Police say Frazier was eastbound on Ventura Boulevard when his 1995 Suzuki motorcycle collided with a white Mitsubishi Montero SUV that made a left turn onto southbound Wilbur Avenue. The driver of the Montero did not stop and was last seen driving on Wilbur. Officials are looking for this hit-and-run driver. Anyone with information is asked to contact the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8028.
Motorcyclist Killed in Los Angeles Car Accident
A 39-year-old man was fatally injured in a Los Angeles car accident after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle that was making a left turn. According to a CBS News report, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred the afternoon of August 3, 2011 at the intersection of Los Feliz Boulevard and Rowena Avenue. The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Los Feliz when he hit a 2010 Infiniti G37 driven by a 20-year-old Los Angeles man, who was turning from Los Feliz onto southbound Rowena. The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital where he died shortly afterward. The driver was uninjured. Officials are looking into the cause of the accident.

An investigation is underway to determine what caused the car to hit the motorcycle. The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center. No one else was hurt in the crash. It is unclear if the car driver will be cited for the crash.

Ricardo Amaro Trujillo, 37, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident when his motorcycle rear-ended a stopped vehicle, the night of July 9, 2011. According to a City News Service report, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred on the 101 Freeway at Las Virgenes Road in Calabasas. Trujillo was riding his Honda motorcycle when he crashed into the back of a stopped Mercedes-Benz. He was thrown from his motorcycle and struck by a 2004 BMW. It is not clear why the vehicle was stopped or why the victim was unable to avoid the collision. An investigation is ongoing.
