Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested in Huntington Beach Motorcycle Accident

Police have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run car accident, which seriously injured a motorcyclist. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, police arrested 47-year-old DeAndre Curtis Hill in connection with a motorcycle accident that seriously injured a 29-year-old man the afternoon of February 24, 2011 near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Slater Avenue in Huntington Beach. Police have identified Hill as the driver of the black Dodge Magnum, which struck and injured the motorcyclist and then fled the scene. Officials say they got several tips and leads from the public, which helped them make the arrest.

I am relieved to hear that the police found the motorist responsible for the crash and I wish the victim a complete recovery. I commend all those who tipped off police and helped find this hit-and-run driver. My thoughts and prayers are with the motorcyclist injured in this Orange County car accident.

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), 49 people were injured in Huntington Beach motorcycle accidents. Orange County Teacher Critically Injured in Motorcycle Accident

Jeff Rupp, 58, was injured in an Orange County car accident when his motorcycle was struck by a car, which turned left in front of him. According to The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred at the intersection of Euclid Street and Malvern Avenue in Fullerton the night of January 19, 2011. Police say that the driver of a 2004 Hyundai made a left hand turn directly in front of Rupp, who was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson. The Fullerton Union High School teacher sustained head injuries and broken bones and has been listed in critical but stable condition. An investigation is ongoing.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jeff Rupp and his family during this difficult time. I wish him a complete and speedy recovery from the serious injuries he has suffered.

Motorcyclist dies 6 days after crash

Herbert Snetsinger, 61, who was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident that occurred on New Year's Day died today at Loma Linda University Medical Center from his injuries.

Motorcycle Crash Causes Serious Injuries

John Madeiros, 46, sustained major injuries in a motorcycle accident in Clearlake on July 8, 2010. According to a news report in the Record-Bee, Madeiros was riding a 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Highway 20 near Orchard Shores Drive when the motorcycle crossed over the center lines and struck a 1975 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 39-year-old David Andrade. Fatal Motorcycle Collision Caused by Repeat DUI Offender

A suspected drunk driver, who officials say, had two prior drunk driving convictions, caused a fatal hit-and-run car accident in San Pablo, killing 35-year-old motorcyclist Anthony Walker. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the fatal motorcycle crash occurred on April 7, 2010 when a pickup truck driven by 43-year-old Juan Ruelas crashed into Walker's motorcycle on Church Lane. After the crash, Ruelas abandoned his truck and ran away from the scene of the crash. However, officials located and arrested him in his home. San Bernardino Motorcycle Accident Caused by Debris on Roadway

Tommy Cockerham, 24, suffered major injuries in a San Bernardino motorcycle accident after his motorcycle ran into a duffel bag on Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms and crashed. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, Cockerham was riding a 2009 Harley-Davidson east on the highway the evening of November 11, 2009 when he ran into the large duffel bag whose contents were spilled on to the road. Cockerham lost control of his motorcycle when he struck the bag and other items. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Motorcyclist Killed in San Diego Car Accident

Joaquin De Lara, 51, was killed in a San Diego car accident after a driver turned left directly into Lara's path, 10News reports. The fatal motorcycle accident occurred the morning of October 14, 2009 in the 7900 block of Airway Road, San Diego police said. The driver of an SUV who was traveling eastbound made a left turn colliding with the motorcycle. The driver apparently told traffic investigators that he was blinded by the glare of the morning sun and did not see the oncoming motorcycle. Lara was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Debra Louise Allen, 42, was killed in a California motorcycle accident after the motorcycle she was riding on was struck by a bus. Allen was on the back of a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle the morning of October 10, 2009 on Highway 94 near the Tecate border crossing. The motorcycle was passing a bus on a winding hill and struck it while moving back into the lane.

San Diego Car Accident Kills Motorcyclist

Mark Taylor, 46, was killed in a San Diego car accident after an unlicensed driver made a U-turn in front of him, the San Diego Union Tribune reports. The fatal collision occurred the evening of September 15, 2009 in Ramona, California. A 28-year-old woman was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber west on Hanson Lane when she stopped, made a U-turn without noticing the also westbound 1993 Honda motorcycle driven by Taylor. The Caliber crossed in front of the motorcyclist's path. Taylor struck the driver's side of the car. He suffered major injuries and died at the scene of the crash. The woman who was reportedly driving a rental car could face criminal charges.

Los Angeles Motorcycle Accident Injures Man

A man was injured in a Los Angeles motorcycle accident after he was hit by two cars and pinned underneath a parked vehicle the afternoon of August 13, 2009 in Arcadia, California. The car collision occurred on Baldwin and Woodruff avenues, Arcadia police officials said. A Honda Accord and an Acura sedan were heading north on Baldwin Avenue when the motorcycle crashed into the driver side of both cars. The rider then, fell off his older model Harley Davidson, slid under a parked car and became trapped under it. Emergency personnel had to lift the car to get him out.
