Mauricio Valdez, 19, who was severely injured in an El Monte motorcycle accident has undergone surgery since and is now going through a tough recovery, according to our sources. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported earlier that the collision between Valdez's motorcycle and another vehicle occurred the afternoon of December 20, 2011, near the intersection of Penn Mar Avenue and Ramona Boulevard.
Officials say Valdez was westbound on Ramona when the other vehicle exited a driveway and drove into his path. The victim was thrown off his motorcycle and sustained major injuries. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, as well as a broken hand, jaw, hip, and leg, our sources said. He underwent surgery on his arm, leg, and hip on December 29, 2011, and is in stable condition after the procedure.

Sean Patrick Flynn, 49, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Malibu after his cycle hit a large truck, the morning of December 5, 2011. According to a City News Service report, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Pacific Coast Highway at Rambla Vista. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials say that Flynn attempted to pass a fully loaded dump truck. As he did so, Flynn hit the truck's side and was then run over by its rear wheels. He died at the scene. Officials are still investigating the cause of this fatal crash.

James Scott Rogers, 46, was killed in a Riverside County motorcycle accident after he lost control of his Harley-Davidson and crashed. According to a news report in The Desert Sun, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Thousand Palms Canyon Road in Desert Hot Springs, the afternoon of November 27, 2011. Officials say Rogers veered off the road and struck the dirt shoulder. Rogers, who was wearing a novelty helmet that did not meet federal safety standards, suffered fatal head injuries and died at the scene of the crash. ?Johnny Carrillo, a 23-year-old U.S. Army ranger, and a 31-year-old woman were both killed in an Orange County motorcycle accident, which officials say, involved speed and alcohol. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred as the motorcycle, driven by Carrillo, was westbound on Malvern Avenue approaching Monticello Avenue in Buena Park, early morning on July 21, 2011.
Police say Carrillo, who was speeding on a Honda motorcycle, lost control and hit a concrete median. The motorcycle slid and struck a light pole. Both Carrillo and the woman were helmeted, and were ejected from the motorcycle. Carrillo was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was transported to an area trauma center where she died during surgery. Officials say speed and alcohol were factors in this tragic crash.

According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal motorcycle crash occurred on the 405 Freeway in Seal Beach, the morning of July 17, 2011. California Highway Patrol officials say the Harley Davidson's male rider was travelling in the freeway's northbound lane when he lost control, cut across the freeway and struck a car. The rider and the female passenger were thrown from the motorcycle and hit a cement wall. The two suffered fatal blunt force injuries and passed away shortly after the crash at a nearby hospital.

Police have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run car accident, which seriously injured a motorcyclist. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, police arrested 47-year-old DeAndre Curtis Hill in connection with a motorcycle accident that seriously injured a 29-year-old man the afternoon of February 24, 2011 near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Slater Avenue in Huntington Beach. Police have identified Hill as the driver of the black Dodge Magnum, which struck and injured the motorcyclist and then fled the scene. Officials say they got several tips and leads from the public, which helped them make the arrest.
I am relieved to hear that the police found the motorist responsible for the crash and I wish the victim a complete recovery. I commend all those who tipped off police and helped find this hit-and-run driver. My thoughts and prayers are with the motorcyclist injured in this Orange County car accident.

Jeff Rupp, 58, was injured in an Orange County car accident when his motorcycle was struck by a car, which turned left in front of him. According to The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred at the intersection of Euclid Street and Malvern Avenue in Fullerton the night of January 19, 2011. Police say that the driver of a 2004 Hyundai made a left hand turn directly in front of Rupp, who was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson. The Fullerton Union High School teacher sustained head injuries and broken bones and has been listed in critical but stable condition. An investigation is ongoing.
