Anthony Rangel, 10, was killed in a bicycle accident in Los Angeles after he was struck by a semi-truck while riding his bike the afternoon of August 12, 2010. According to an Associated Press news report, the fatal accident occurred near the intersection of Loveland and Perry streets in Bell Gardens. Anthony was riding his bike west on Loveland and the truck was going north on Perry Street when the two collided. The boy died at the scene, even before emergency personnel arrived, officials said. A bicycle accident near Azusa Pacific University resulted in serious injuries to a 22-year-old student, The Pasadena Star-News reports. Azusa police say the woman was riding her bicycle on Alosta Avenue, close to the university's north campus, when a car hit her. She sustained leg injuries and was flown to an area hospital. A truck accident in the Santa Clarita area of Los Angeles resulted in injuries for three people. The Santa Clarita Signal reports that the injury collision occurred the morning of July 30, 2010 on the Interstate 5 near Valencia Boulevard. California Highway Patrol officials say a small passenger vehicle was wedged between two semi-trucks. It is not known which vehicles the injured victims were in. An investigation is ongoing. Two drivers, who were killed in a Malibu car accident the morning of July 16, 2010, have been identified by officials as Jason Sorg and 23-year-old Oscar Mendoza. The Associated Press reports that the fatal collision occurred on Pacific Coast Highway when Sorg, who was driving the wrong way, slammed head-on into Mendoza's Ford Mustang. Mendoza died at the scene and his passenger, Jesus Saenz, 24, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Alcohol or drugs possibly played a part in this accident, officials say. Police have arrested a woman in connection with a fatal July 15, 2010 Los Angeles car accident, which resulted in the death of 11-year-old Natanael Garcia. Steven Roger Carlson, 47, was identified as the driver who was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after his vehicle was struck by a suspected drunk driver. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, officials also arrested 25-year-old Omar Vivar on suspicion of DUI causing death and bodily injury after the July 13, 2010 crash. An elderly man was killed and five others sustained injuries in a Los Angeles car accident the morning of July 5, 2010. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the accident occurred at the intersection of East Orange Grove Boulevard and East Sierra Madre Boulevard after one of the drivers ran a red light. The elderly man was a passenger in one of the cars. He was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries and died soon after, Pasadena fire officials said.
