Several people sustained injuries in a San Francisco train accident after a San Francisco Municipal Railway light rail vehicle and a passenger transport van collided the morning of May 20, 2010. According to a Bay City News report, the collision occurred at the intersection of 14th Avenue and Judah Street in the city's Inner Sunset neighborhood. Six people who were in the van suffered injuries and were transported to area hospitals. No one in the light rail vehicle seems to have been injured. One woman sustained injuries in an Orange car accident after her vehicle was involved in a crash with another vehicle at an intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the driver of a Ford Taurus had to be extricated from her car after it was T-boned by a Nissan Altima at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Glassell Street the morning of May 13, 2010. Two people -- 35-year-old Victor Diaz and 56-year-old Phillip Coston -- were killed and four were injured in a San Francisco car accident that occurred near midnight on April 16, 2010. According to a news report in the Contra Costa Times, the car crash happened at the intersection of Buchanan Road and Brookside Drive, in Pittsburg, California. An 18-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a Los Angeles car accident after he was struck by a car the afternoon of April 7, 2010 while riding his skateboard in Whittier. The Whittier Daily News reports that the major injury crash happened near the intersection of Broadway and Comstock Avenue. The skateboarder was unconscious when emergency personnel arrived. Two Marines, ages 19 and 21, sustained fatal injuries in a San Diego car accident after the vehicle they were in went off the roadway and into a ravine. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the fatal car accident occurred the night of March 18, 2010 when the Mazda 3 going west on Carroll Canyon Road in Mira Mesa went straight through a guardrail. Police have identified a 13-year-old girl who died in a Los Angeles car accident that happened the morning of February 26, 2010, as Julia Siegler. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, the teenager was trying to cross Sunset Boulevard to catch a school bus when she was clipped by a vehicle and then run over by another. Police say preliminary reports show that Julia was crossing against a red light. Both drivers remained at the scene. The girl was taken to a nearby hospital. She succumbed to her injuries. A pedestrian sustained serious injuries in a Los Angeles car accident the afternoon of January 25, 2010, the Pasadena Star News report. The major injury pedestrian accident occurred in the 100 block of East Huntington Drive in Arcadia, when a vehicle heading east on Huntington struck the man. The victim, who has not yet been identified, and described only as a man in his 40s, sustained head trauma and a broken collar bone. He was transported to a local hospital where he is said to be in stable condition. The 21-year-old driver of the car was uninjured. She was not cited pending an official investigation. A 96-year-old man sustained fatal injuries in a Los Angeles car accident as he crossed the street at a Lakewood intersection. According to a news report in The Press Telegram, the man was crossing the street at the intersection of Candlewood Street and Hayter Avenue on December 13, 2009, when a vehicle struck him. A police officer and two other motorists were injured in a Los Angeles car accident the night of December 6, 2009 after a patrol car and another vehicle crashed at an intersection in La Puente. According to a KPCC news report, the collision occurred at the intersection of Amar Road and North Sunset Avenue. The Los Angeles Sheriff's deputy was heading west on Amar Road and was responding to a 911 call. The patrol car then struck a 2007 Nissan Titan pickup truck driving on Sunset.
