Two women suffered serious injuries in a Long Beach car accident, which officials say involved a hit-and-run driver, the night of October 14, 2011. According to a City News Service report, the pedestrian collision occurred on Pacific Coast Highway, near Loma Avenue, when a dark-colored Lexus struck them. One of the women, who was in her 20s, was listed in stable condition with multiple injuries, while the other woman, who was in her 30s, was listed in critical condition. Officials say the driver of the Lexus fled the scene of the crash. The vehicle is said to have sustained windshield damage during the accident. Riverside Hit-and-Run Car Accident Injures Woman
Beverly Glass, 72, of Morongo Valley, was seriously injured in a Riverside car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the injury collision occurred the afternoon of October 12, 2011 when Glass' vehicle stalled on the 10 Freeway near North Indian Canyon Drive in Indio. Glass was trying to walk across traffic lanes to get help when a black, late model Volkswagen Jetta hit her.
She was thrown onto the shoulder of the freeway. The female driver apparently stopped and talked to several witnesses and then got in the car and drove away. Officials say the driver was wearing a white tank top and blue pants, was about 25 years old, 5-foot-4 and 110 pounds with shoulder-length brown hair. Glass was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. Anyone with information about the suspect or vehicle is asked to contact California Highway Patrol officials at 760-772-8911.
Victorville Hit-and-Run Crash Causes Critical Injuries
Glen Lively, 32, was severely injured in a Victorville car accident involving a hit-and-run motorist. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the hit-and-run car accident occurred on Bear Valley Road, near Cypress Avenue, in Victorville, the afternoon of September 25, 2011. Lively was driving west when a vehicle either turned left in front of him or pulled into his path. He crashed into the passenger side of the car and was critically injured. The vehicle responsible for the collision sped away and no witnesses have stepped forward to give the authorities more information. Officials are searching for a tan or gold Camry or Volvo.

Elderly Woman Killed in Palmdale Hit-and-Run Car Accident
Zenobia Beatrice Schurlock, 82, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a City News Service report, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred near 50th Street E south of Avenue M in Palmdale. Schurlock's body was found on the roadway just after midnight on August 23, 2011.
Officials say they do not know of any witnesses to this crash. But, they say the driver who struck Schurlock fled the scene. There is no information about the suspect vehicle either. Anyone who witnessed this hit-and-run car accident or has any information about the suspect or vehicle, is asked to call California Highway Patrol officials at 661-948-8541.
Hit-and-Run Car Accident in San Bernardino Causes Injuries
A hit-and-run driver, who struck and injured two bicyclists, one of them identified as Tim Moreno, has been arrested thanks to tips from the community. According to a news report in the Victorville Daily Press, the car accident occurred on June 11, 2011 near Apple Valley and Symeron roads in Apple Valley. Officials say the driver, 61-year-old Michael Slusser, came too close to the bike lane where the men were biking and struck Moreno in the back of his head with a passenger side mirror.
Moreno fell down and in the process knocked down another rider. Slusser fled the scene. The Victor Valley Bicycle Club had set up a reward fund to help catch the driver. Slusser was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Slusser has apparently been arrested in the past for several crimes including domestic violence and vehicle code violations. Read the rest »
Los Angeles Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-And-Run Car Accident
A motorcyclist was injured in a Los Angeles car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to a City News Service report, the injury hit-and-run accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway near Jefferson Park the night of May 17, 2011. The motorcyclist was thrown into the bushes on the right shoulder of the freeway after being struck by an Acura TL. The victim was hospitalized with unknown injuries. The car driver fled the scene. California Highway Patrol officials are looking for the male hit-and-run driver.

Hit-And-Run Car Accident in Riverside Causes Injuries
A man and his wife who were killed in a car accident in Riverside have been identified by officials as Carlos Castro, 52 and Laurie Castro, 50. My Valley News reports that the fatal hit-and-run crash occurred on Glen Oaks Road in Temecula when a vehicle collided head-on with a sedan being driven by Carlos Castro. The Castros died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle drove away from the scene. Officials have described the hit-and-run suspect as a Latino man wearing a white and orange striped shirt and white tennis shoes. An investigation is ongoing.

A 23-year-old man was critically injured in an Orange County car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the serious injury bicycle accident took place the night of November 17, 2010 at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Browning Avenue in Tustin. The bicyclist suffered severe head trauma when a red Ford Mustang struck him. Police are searching for the driver who left the scene of the car accident. Hit-and-Run Truck Accident in Orange County
Authorities in Orange County are looking for a hit-and-run truck driver who they say caused an injury car accident and then left the scene. The Orange County Register reports that the truck accident happened on the southbound 57 Freeway the morning of October 14, 2010 in Placentia. A Honda Civic was struck from behind by a large truck. The Honda then went under a second big-rig. The first truck, which rear-ended the Honda, did not stop and left the scene. The driver of the Honda was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
