Three people were injured in an October 26, 2009 car accident in Orange County after a Toyota Camry and a Mercury Mountaineer collided at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and State College Boulevard in Anaheim. According to a news article in The Orange County Register, the Camry was going east on Lincoln and was making a left onto State College. The Mountaineer was traveling west on Lincoln through the intersection. The Mountaineer rolled over on impact and the female driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Two people in the Camry were also injured.

Diego Barron, 20, was killed in a Ventura car accident the morning of August 15, 2009 after losing control of his car and crashing. According to a news report in the Ventura County Star, Barron was eastbound in the fast lane of the Highway 118 near Sycamore Drive in Simi Valley, California, when his car hit the dirt center divider. It then jumped back to the right shoulder of the freeway, rolled several times and went down the side embankment before hitting a tree branch and a chain link fence, California Highway Patrol officials said.

A man suffered critical injuries after a Los Angeles car accident the evening of August 5, 2009, the Pasadena Star News reports. The car crash occurred in the westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway near Myrtle Avenue in Duarte, California, Los Angeles County fire officials said. The man had to be extricated from his Corvette and airlifted to a local hospital. At least three other vehicle were involved in the car accident. The car crash also caused one of the vehicles to catch fire. No other injuries were reported in that car accident. California Highway Patrol officials are investigating this incident.

Evangelina Niche, 49, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident after a motorist crossed into her lane and struck her vehicle, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports. Niche was reportedly driving west on Bear Valley Road near the border of Hesperia and Victorville the evening of July 21, 2009 when an eastbound motorist crossed into her lane and crashed into Niche's car. Niche was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. A man and a woman in the other vehicle suffered minor to moderate injuries. San Bernardino Sheriff's officials are investigating the fatal car crash.

Darrel Dykes, 46, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident on Highway 18 the afternoon of July 10, 2009, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports. Dykes was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado when he drove into a large asphalt turnout and went off the highway at the 4,000-foot elevation marker. The car then landed in the northbound lane of Highway 18 below. Dykes was pronounced dead at the scene. California Highway Patrol officials are still looking into why Dykes' vehicle left the mountain highway.

One person was killed and another injured in a Los Angeles car accident on the 110 Freeway near Highland Park, CBS News reports. The car crash occurred on the Avenue 64 onramp of the southbound 110 Freeway the afternoon of July 4, 2009, California Highway Patrol officials said. One of the cars rolled over trapping one person inside, Los Angeles fire officials said. Firefighters had to extricate the victim who was then transported to an area hospital in critical condition. One of the victims died, but that individual has not yet been identified.
