A five-vehicle car accident in Anaheim, which sent seven people to area hospitals with injuries, was caused by a driver who made an unsafe lane change and rear-ended another vehicle, officials say. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury crash occurred the morning of January 4, 2012 on the 57 Freeway just north of Ball Road. California Highway Patrol officials say the chain-reaction crash happened when a Ford pickup truck moved from the number four to the number 5 lane and ended up rear-ending a GMC SUV. The impact pushed the GMC into the back of a Honda Accord, which veered to the left and swiped another Honda Accord, which was traveling in the number one lane. The investigation is still ongoing.

Twelve people were injured, eight seriously, in an Anaheim car accident, which involved at least five vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the major injury collision occurred the morning of January 4, 2012 on the southbound 57 Freeway just north of the Ball Road ramp. California Highway Patrol officials said at least eight patients were taken to a trauma center while four others suffered relatively minor injuries. No other information is available about what led to the crash. An investigation is ongoing.

A woman was trapped inside her vehicle following an Anaheim car accident that involved a collision between a Toyota Tundra and her Nissan Altima. Officials say the woman was pulling into traffic from an apartment complex in her Altima when the Tundra broadsided her. Emergency crews had to rescue her from her vehicle. Jazmine Serdaru, 4, was killed in an Anaheim car accident after she was struck by a minivan in the parking lot of a large apartment complex. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the night of September 8, 2011. Police say the collision occurred at Amberway Apartment Homes in the 400 block of South Chatham Circle. Responding officers found that Jazmine had suffered traumatic injuries. She was transported to an area trauma center where she died shortly afterward. Investigators are dealing with conflicting reports at this point and are trying to figure out why the girl was in the parking lot of the gated apartment complex and how the collision occurred.

I offer my deepest condolences to the family members of Jazmine Serdaru for their sudden and heartbreaking loss. Apparently, the little girl celebrated her fourth birthday just last month. Tragic! Please keep this grieving family in your thoughts and prayers.

A motorcyclist was severely injured in an Anaheim car accident, which officials say involved at least two other vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury collision occurred the afternoon of July 25, 2011 in the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway near Gypsum Canyon Road. California Highway Patrol officials say the motorcyclist was dragged for 30 feet in a Fastrak lane. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.

According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury car accident occurred on the Brookhurst Street on-ramp to the westbound 91 Freeway in Anaheim the morning of February 9, 2011. The car accident involved a Dodge Dakota pickup truck and a Toyota Camry. It appears that the Toyota Camry was rear-ended by the Dodge. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
