Yesterday, Loree Glenn of Mission Viejo, began her 545-mile journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Loree is riding for the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation for the fourth year in a row. Yesterday, her journey began with a monstrous, 82.5 mile ride from San Francisco to Santa Cruz. The first leg of the ride is a tough, but beautiful ride that offers amazing scenic views and difficult terrain.
According to the aidslifecycle.org website, "The route on Day 1 offers some of the best scenery and cycling roads that San Mateo County has to offer. The stunning coastal views from hilltops to the ocean are truly Northern California at its best! Tailwinds prevail as we pedal along scenic CA Hwy 1 on our way to camp. Highlight of the day: The lunch stop on Day 1 offers a spectacular and breathtaking view of the ocean so be sure to pack your camera."
Riding All Week
Daily updates will be provided about Loree's ride, and the word has already been getting out. Loree's husband Kevin mentioned that they received a $100 donation to Loree's cause from Charles and Louise Silverberg in memory of their son Danny who died of aids. Hopefully, as the week progresses, more donations will come in and Loree's ride will continue to be a success.
