Fires And Deaths Continue Even After Jeep Fuel Tank Recall

Chrysler RecallAn Associated Press news report states that even though Chrysler recalled 1.56 million Jeeps in 2013 for defective fuel tanks, fires and deaths continue to happen.

The report gives the example of Kayla White, a driver who slowed her SUV behind two cars to exit a suburban Detroit Freeway on Veterans Day.

Her 2003 Jeep Liberty was rammed from behind by Cadillac STS. White’s Jeep rolled onto its side and exploded in flames. Other drivers or firefighters could not help.

Police Ask for Phone Records In Bruce Jenner Car Crash

Bruce Jenner Car AccidentLos Angeles Sheriff’s investigators contacted Bruce Jenner and other drivers involved in a fatal chain-reaction crash in Malibu to ask for access to their cell phone records.

According to an Associated Press news report, police are trying to determine if distracted driving played a part in a four-vehicle crash on Pacific Coast Highway on February 7, 2015.

Police say these types of requests have become routine in crashes where someone has been seriously injured or killed.

Dog Whisperer Star Cesar Millan Faces Dog Bite Lawsuit

Cesar Millan Dog Attack Lawsuit“Dog Whisperer” star Cesar Millan has been sued by a Florida nurse who was brutally attacked by a pit bull that left Millan’s training center just days before the attack.

According to a news report in the Daily Mail, Alison Bitney was visiting a friend in Santa Clarita in September 2014 when she says the dog viciously attacked her.

The lawsuit states the dog attack left Bitney with disfiguring open wounds, deep muscle injuries and tendon lacerations. Bitney is seeking punitive damages.

Anthem Secuirty BreachHackers have breached Anthem Inc., one of the largest healthcare companies here in California and the rest of the United States, compromising the personal information of more than 80 million past and current policyholders.

According to various media reports, hackers have gained access to individuals’ Social Security numbers, birth dates, names, employment, income data and other valuable personal information.

Jury Tells Toyota to Pay $11 Million to Fatal Crash Victims

Toyota LawsuitA federal jury decided that the design of the 1996 Toyota Camry had a dangerous sudden acceleration defect that was partially responsible for a fatal 2006 crash.

According to an Associated Press news report, jurors ordered the automaker to pay nearly $11 million to victims.

The jury determined that the company was 60 percent to blame for the accident, which left three people dead and two seriously injured.

Johns Hopkins Study Tackles Concussion-Related Brain Damage

NFL Brain DamageA team of specialists in Johns Hopkins has gathered evidence of accumulated brain damage in former NFL players that could be linked to specific memory deficits experienced decades after the athletes stopped playing the game.

According to the university’s website, the small study, which involved imaging and cognitive tests of nine former NFL players, provides more evidence of potential long-term neurological risks to football players who suffer repeated concussions.
