Defective Tire Recall: Bridgestone Recalls Firestone FR 380 Tires

By Admin on July 1, 2009 - No comments

Bridgestone/Firestone is issuing a defective product recall for about 127,000 Firestone FR 380 tires because it could lead to vibration and groove cracking, tire tread separation and loss of vehicle control. According to a news report in Consumeraffairs.com, the tires in the size P235/75R15 were manufactured from September 9, 2007 through July 2, 2008. The tires may deteriorate with continued use. Bridgestone will notify owners and replace these recalled tires free of charge. The company will also mount and balance the replacement tires at no charge. Consumers who have more questions about this defective product recall are asked to contact Bridgestone/Firestone at 1-800-465-1904. Consumers may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at 1-888-327-4236.

Tire defects, whether in passenger cars, motorcycles or other vehicles, can have devastating consequences. Whether the defect is related to tire pressure or tire tread separation, when a car's tire fails, the driver has very little control over his or her vehicle. Even an experienced driver will not be able to control his or her car if the tire failure occurs suddenly – especially if it happens at freeway speeds. Such auto products liability issues can also cause rollover car accidents, which could result in catastrophic injuries or even death.

In cases where serious personal injuries or death occur as a result of a tire defect or any other auto product defect, the tire manufacturer or the maker of that defective auto product could be held liable for the accident and resulting injuries. Injured victims or their families could receive compensation to cover medical/funeral expenses, cost of medication, hospitalization or long-term care and loss of wages, among other damages. If you or a loved one has been injured because of an auto product defect such as a tire defect, please contact a nationally renowned auto products liability attorney who will fight for your rights and make sure you get fair compensation for your injuries and/or loss caused by the defective auto product. The best California product liability attorney will always offer a free and comprehensive initial consultation to injured victims and their families.
