Sarah Leaf, 29, was killed in a bicycle accident in Newport Beach after a stake-bed truck hit her, the morning of September 14, 2012. According to a news report in Corona del Mar Today, the fatal traffic accident occurred at the intersection of East Coast Highway and Bayside Drive. Police say Leaf was riding her bike on East Coast Highway and was preparing to make a right onto Bayside, when the truck driver, who was traveling in the same direction, attempted a right turn, struck and ran her over. Leaf died from her injuries. No arrests or citations have been reported yet.
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who knew and loved Sarah Leaf. She was apparently a certified nutritionist at a local fitness center and spa. This is indeed a tragic incident! I offer my deepest condolences to her family members and friends.

Two people were injured in a Metrolink train accident in Oxnard after a big rig collided with a commuter train. According to a news report in The Ventura County Star, the injury crash occurred on Fifth Street east of Pleasant Valley Road near an agricultural field early morning on August 24, 2012. California Highway Patrol officials said the train was traveling east when the truck, which was pulling a flatbed loaded with 10 450-pound canisters of the agricultural fumigant methlyl bromide, turned toward a field. The truck driver apparently failed to see the train. The train was able to slow down, but could not avoid hitting the truck. The truck driver and one passenger on the train, who complained of chest pain, were taken to the hospital.

Two men, identified as Billy Chou, 27, and Michael Miccio, 41, were injured in a tractor-trailer accident the night of August 15, 2012. According to a news report in The Walnut Patch, the injury crash occurred when Miccio, who was driving on the connector road from the eastbound 60 Freeway to the southbound 57 Freeway lost control on the curve and braked hard. Miccio’s truck overturned landing on Chou’s Honda, which was traveling in the same direction. Both men suffered non-life-threatening injuries. California Highway Patrol officials say Miccio was traveling too fast as he took the curve and lost control of the rig.
My thoughts and prayers are with Chou, who is lucky to have escaped serious injuries in this crash. I wish him the very best for a speedy and complete recovery.

A female driver was fatally injured in a Long Beach car accident involving two vehicles. According to a news article in The Long Beach Press Telegram, the fatal car accident occurred the morning of May 14, 2012 at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Police say the victim was driving an SUV eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway and tried to make a northbound left turn on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. The SUV collided with semi-tractor trailer that was going west on PCH. The driver and a male passenger were ejected from the SUV. The driver died while the passenger suffered minor injuries. A second passenger in the SUV also sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was uninjured.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family members and friends of this deceased car accident victim, who are mourning the loss of their loved one. My heart also goes out to the injured victims of this collision. I wish them the very best for a speedy and complete recovery.

Juanita Mullin, 59, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident after her vehicle was rear-ended by a big rig, the morning of May 7, 2012. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the truck accident occurred on the Interstate 15 in the Mojave Desert north of Baker. California Highway Patrol officials say the tractor-trailer struck Mullin’s 2012 Chevy Impala from behind. They are still investigating the cause of this fatal accident.
I offer my deepest condolences to the family members and friends of Juanita Mullin for their tragic and heartbreaking loss. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Edward Estrada, 26, was killed in a Torrance car accident when his vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer. According to a news report in The Daily Breeze, the fatal truck accident occurred on Crenshaw Boulevard during the early morning hours of April 16, 2012. Officials say the car was traveling north when the truck pulled out from a private driveway. Estrada was fatally injured in the collision with the big rig. His 23-year-old female passenger was listed in serious condition. It is not clear at this time if the truck driver will face charges.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Edward Estrada, who was killed in this tragic Los Angeles truck accident. My thoughts and prayers are also with the injured passenger. I wish her the very best for a complete and speedy recovery.
