Americo Aucaruri , 53, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident after he was rear-ended by another vehicle on the 10 Freeway. According to a news report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Aucaruri was driving a Jeep Cherokee westbound on the freeway the evening of September 18, 2010, when he was struck from behind by another vehicle near the Etiwanda Avenue overpass. The Jeep rolled over multiple times before coming to a stop. Three passengers in the Jeep were also injured and transported to a local hospital. The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into what caused this fatal car accident.
My condolences go out the family and friends of Americo Aucaruri. My thoughts are also with the injured passengers in this car accident. I wish them a swift and complete recovery.
Car Accident Statistics
According to California Highway Patrol's 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), 263 people were killed and 8,504 people were injured in San Bernardino County car accidents. In Fontana, during the same year, 14 fatalities and 627 injuries were reported as a result of car accidents.
Rear-End Collision
Rear-end accidents are often caused by drivers following too close behind another vehicle or by distracted drivers. California Vehicle Code Section 21703 states: "The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicle and the traffic upon, and the condition of, the roadway." California Vehicle Code Section 21704 also states that the driver "shall keep the vehicle he is driving at a distance of not less than 300 feet to the rear of any other motor vehicle subject to such speed restriction which is preceding it."
Liability Issues
If the driver of the other car is determined to have been at fault, he or she could be held liable for Aucaruri's wrongful death and the injuries caused to the other occupants of the Jeep. Where negligence or wrongdoing is involved, families of deceased car accident victims could seek compensation to cover medical and funeral expenses, lost future income, loss of love and companionship, and other related damages. An experienced San Bernardino personal injury lawyer will be able to advise families about how to pursue their legal rights in such cases.

How fast was this guy moving?! He ran into someone from behind and flipped their jeep multiple times? How sad, when are people going to realize that their cars are dangerous?
