A man who sustained fatal injuries in a San Bernardino car accident has been identified by local authorities as 23-year-old Justin Chang of Hacienda Heights. The Whittier Daily News reports that Chang lost control of his vehicle on the Highway 395 the night of January 15, 2010. His Toyota Scion crashed near mile marker 61. Chang's Toyota went off the highway and into the northbound lane where he was struck by a Honda van. Chang died at the scene of the crash.
My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Justin Chang for their devastating loss. I offer my deepest sympathies, especially to his grieving family. They will be in my prayers.
Car Accident Causes
It's not clear based on this news report, how or why Chang lost control of his vehicle and crashed. There are several unanswered questions here. Was Chang distracted or sleepy at the time? Was there an auto product defect or a mechanical malfunction that may have caused Chang to lose control? Did a dangerous or defective condition on the roadway cause this collision? Was there debris on the roadway? Did Chang lose control because he was cut off or run off the roadway by another driver? Hopefully the answers to these questions will help provide Chang's family with information about what exactly had happened here.
