Riverside Car Accident Injures Bicyclist
February 12th, 2010 | JoyceA bicyclist was injured in a Riverside car accident involving a SuperShuttle van on Highway 111. According to a news report in The Desert Sun, the injury collision occurred near Gateway Road the morning of February 11, 2010. The van driver told police that he was headed north in the right lane of the highway when he saw the bicyclist on the right shoulder, also traveling north. When the cyclist made a "sudden left turn" into the travel lanes, the van driver said he slammed on the brake and swerved. He however ended up hitting the bicyclist with the front passenger side of the van. The van then collided with a car. The driver of the SuperShuttle and two people in the other car where not injured. Police said the bicyclist seemed to have a significant head injury.
