Edward Delgado, 21, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident that involved several other vehicles, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports. The accident occurred the afternoon of December 20, 2009, on the southbound 71 Freeway in Pomona, near West Ninth Street. Three others were airlifted in serious condition, and one other victim was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Edward Delgado for their tragic and heartbreaking loss. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved this man. Please keep them in your prayers. I also, sincerely wish the four injured victims here, a speedy and full recovery.
According to California Highway Patrol's 2007 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), there were 11 deaths and 894 injuries involving car accidents in Pomona, California. In Los Angeles County as a whole, 712 fatalities and 56,475 injuries were reported as a result of car accidents in 2007.
