We have just received an e-mail update about Loree's Aids Lifecycle Campaign. The Newport Beach personal injury law firm of BISNAR | CHASE is wholeheartedly supporting and sponsoring Mission Viejo mom Loree Glenn in her 545-mile ride from June 6 to June 12 to raise money for HIV/AIDS, the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
A Meaningful Journey
Loree's husband Kevin tells us that Loree is on Day Four of the ride. This is her third year participating in this ride. The group of riders rolled out of San Francisco the morning of June 6, 2010. They spent their first night in Santa Cruz. The next night was spent 107 miles south down the road in King City. The third night was spent in Paso Robles. There are close to 3,000 cyclists and volunteers who make this fantastic event happen each and every year.
Loree's personal blog about her long and arduous yet rewarding journey is fascinating. She talks about the breathtaking views and at the same time the "pain" and the "burn" in her legs from the physical activity.
"The aches and sores are no surprise though," she writes in her blog. "I have trained for this and know how to ride through the pain." She also talks about the fun part of the ride. Each rest stop has its own theme which is coordinated with decorations and costumes. Monday's rest stops included Extreme Makeover (Recession Edition), Girl Scouts, 80s rock and pajamas.
Rewarding Ride
We are absolutely in awe of Loree's dedication to this cause. We at BISNAR | CHASE are honored to be her corporate sponsor. There is no question in my mind that she has probably already signed up for next year. Loree trains year-long for this amazing bike ride. Her training regimen includes, yoga, pilates and riding uphill. Loree's family has been a tremendous support to her as well. Kevin even participated in her training by riding with her on a 50-mile trek from San Clemente to Oceanside.
This wonderful ride is going to end with a candlelight vigil on the beach in Ventura to pay tribute to all those who have died of AIDS. Loree, we wish you the very best. Enjoy your journey and have a safe ride back home.
