Fatal San Bernardino Car Accident

By Admin on July 23, 2009 - No comments

Evangelina Niche, 49, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident after a motorist crossed into her lane and struck her vehicle, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports. Niche was reportedly driving west on Bear Valley Road near the border of Hesperia and Victorville the evening of July 21, 2009 when an eastbound motorist crossed into her lane and crashed into Niche's car. Niche was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. A man and a woman in the other vehicle suffered minor to moderate injuries. San Bernardino Sheriff's officials are investigating the fatal car crash.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Evangelina Niche for their tragic loss. I offer my deepest sympathies to them as they go through this difficult time. Please keep them in your prayers.

According to California Highway Patrol's 2007 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS) there were 308 deaths and 9,920 injuries involving car accidents in San Bernardino County.

This news report does not give too many details about how or why this fatal car accident occurred. Based on the information we have here, it appears that the driver of the other vehicle that collided with Niche was at fault here. The question here is why the other driver crossed into opposing traffic lanes and struck Niche's car. Was he or she driving under the influence? Was the driver distracted or fatigued? Was there a mechanical malfunction in the vehicle? Did the driver suffer a medical condition? Any number of things could have gone wrong here.

In such car accidents where there is a strong possibility that the other party is at fault, it is in the best interest of the victim (or their family) to consult with an experienced California car accident lawyer who will keep up with the official investigation, analyze the facts of the case, identify the negligent parties and hold them accountable. In this case, if there was negligence or wrongdoing involved, the other party could be held civilly and criminally responsible for the accident and Niche's fatal injuries. A skilled California personal injury lawyer who has experience and a successful track record filing wrongful death claims will be able help Niche's family get just compensation to cover funeral expenses, lost wages and other related damages.
