Possible Dangerous Roadway?
If I were a family member of this victim, I'd definitely want to find out if this bicycle accident was the result of a dangerous or defective roadway. Last year, our firm filed a lawsuit against the city of Azusa on behalf of 21-year-old Julie Farris, an Azusa Pacific University student, who was brain-injured after her bicycle was hit by a university trolley. In the case of Farris, who was traveling between the university's east and west campuses, she was forced to ride her bike against traffic because of overcrowded pedestrian traffic and lack of proper sidewalks in the area. By poorly designing the roadway, the city of Azusa had created a dangerous condition.
If this most recent bicycle accident was also the result of a dangerous or defective roadway, the city could be held liable for the woman's injuries. An experienced Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, who has had experience standing up against cities and governmental entities will be able to advise victims in such cases about their legal rights and options. Please remember that any personal injury claim against a California public entity must be filed within six months of the incident.
