A San Bernardino car accident caused by a suspected drunk driver the evening of February 19, 2010, resulted in serious injuries to Charlotte Anderson, 64 and Stephen Anderson, 63, the Hi Desert Star reports. The Chevy Lumina driven by Charlotte Anderson was rear-ended by 28-year-old Jennifer Belle who was doing about 85 mph on a Joshua Tree roadway. She lost control of her 2006 Nissan Armada SUV and crashed into the Lumina. Officials said Charlotte Anderson was critically injured and her passenger, Stephen Anderson, sustained serious injuries. San Bernardino Hit-and-Run Car Accident Kills Teenager
Thomas Joseph Meeks, 19, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident after both, he and his 15-year-old stepbrother were fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver. The San Bernardino Sun reports that the fatal accident occurred the night of February 19, 2010 on 40th Street, near Johnson Street and Acre Lane. An off-duty Los Angeles police officer was killed in a Los Angeles car accident involving four vehicles. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the fatal car accident occurred on Grand Avenue near Longview Drive, in Diamond Bar, the afternoon of February 25, 2010. Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials say the chain-reaction crash was triggered by a head-on collision between two vehicles traveling in opposite directions on Grand. Fatal Car Accident in Los Angeles
One person was killed and another was critically injured in a Los Angeles car accident involving at least eight vehicles and a big rig. According to an ABC News report, the fatal traffic accident occurred the night of February 24, 2010 on the eastbound 101 Freeway near Sepulveda Boulevard, in Sherman Oaks. One person was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. One other victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. San Francisco Bay Area DUI Collision Injures Five
Five people were injured in a car accident caused by a Kaiser surgeon who was driving the wrong way on a Napa area highway early morning on February 21, 2010. According to a news report in the Vallejo Times-Herald, a head-on collision occurred when Dr. Michael Meehan, a 61-year-old orthopedic surgeon at Kaiser, who was driving a Toyota Tacoma, struck a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero on the Highway 221, near Kaiser Road. California Highway Patrol officials arrested Meehan on suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver and passengers of the car that Meehan struck ranged in age from 17 to 23. Those individuals sustained moderate to major injuries and were all transported to a Napa hospital. Meehan broke both his legs in the crash, the report states. Read the rest »
Fatal Los Angeles Car Accident
A motorist was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after a big rig on the 710 Freeway struck his vehicle on the night of February 22, 2010. According to a CBS News report, the big rig was northbound on the freeway near East Slauson Avenue, in Commerce, when it struck a vehicle that was stopped by the shoulder of the freeway. Fatal Bicycle Accident Kills Visiting Scholar from China
Yichao Wang, a 26-year-old visiting scholar at Stanford University, has died of injuries sustained in a San Francisco car accident. Wang was bicycling home on February 3, 2010 to his Palo Alto apartment when he was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Palm Drive and Museum Way. Ventura Car Accident Injures Four
Four people were injured in a Ventura car accident involving two cars the evening of February 15, 2010. The Ventura County Star reports that the major injury accident occurred at the intersection of Bardsdale Avenue and Sespe Street in Fillmore. Guillermo Andrade, 31, was driving west on Bardsdale and ran a stop sign at that intersection, California Highway Patrol officials said.
