Anaheim Car Accident Injures Pedestrian

A woman was injured in an Orange County car accident after she was struck by a car on an Anaheim street. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the accident occurred the morning of October 26, 2009 when the woman was hit by a dark green Toyota Paseo on Crescent Avenue near Euclid Street. Anaheim police officials say the woman was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident. She was treated at the scene and transported to a hospital. It's not clear how serious her injuries were. The driver of the Toyota apparently remained at the scene and has not been cited or arrested, pending an investigation.

San Bernardino Car Accident Kills Elderly Woman

Barbara Lowe, 74, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident the afternoon of October 27, 2009 after the vehicle she was a passenger in, crashed into a tree off Highway 38 in Big Bear. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, Lowe was in a 1999 Ford Explorer when the driver veered off the highway and hit a tree. California Highway Patrol officials said Lowe was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after the crash. The driver was also taken to the hospital with injuries, but the extent of his injuries is not known.

Ventura County Car Accident Kills Motorcyclist

Jeffrey Decker, 50, was killed in a Ventura car accident after his motorcycle collided with a sport utility vehicle, the Ventura County Star reports. An autopsy report determined that Decker had died of blunt force trauma to the head. The fatal motorcycle crash occurred the night of October 23, 2009 when Decker was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Alamo Street in Simi Valley. Decker was involved in a collision with an SUV that was apparently heading north on Cimmaron Avenue, Simi Valley police officials said. Decker was also wearing a helmet. He was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly after the accident. The driver of the SUV, Jennifer Townes was not injured.

Woman Critically Injured in Los Angeles Car Accident

Yvonne Lambert was critically injured in a Los Angeles car accident the night of October 26, 2009 after she crashed into two parked cars in Torrance, California. According to a news report in the Daily Breeze, the car crash occurred in the 17000 block of Crenshaw Boulevard. Torrance police officials said Lambert was driving south when she hit two parked cars and became trapped in her Datsun station wagon. Lambert was listed in "extremely critical condition" at a local hospital. Anyone who saw this accident is asked to call Torrance Police traffic investigators at 310-618-5557.

Orange County Car Accident Injures Three

Three people were injured in an October 26, 2009 car accident in Orange County after a Toyota Camry and a Mercury Mountaineer collided at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and State College Boulevard in Anaheim. According to a news article in The Orange County Register, the Camry was going east on Lincoln and was making a left onto State College. The Mountaineer was traveling west on Lincoln through the intersection. The Mountaineer rolled over on impact and the female driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Two people in the Camry were also injured.

Jury Awards $164,000 to Los Angeles Car Accident Victim

San Diego Car Accident Injures Pedestrian

A 14-year-old girl was injured in a San Diego car accident after a vehicle struck her on a San Marcos street. According to a 10news report, the girl was walking with her dog on Amberhill Terrace near Dove Tail Drive the morning of October 19, 2009 when they were struck. The teen was airlifted to a San Diego hospital while the dog died at the scene. The driver who hit the pedestrian remained at the crash site, police said.

Pedestrian Killed in San Francisco Area Car Accident

Dale Raymond Maggard, 55, has been identified as the pedestrian who was killed in a San Francisco car accident when he was hit walking across the street. According to a news report in the Times Herald, the accident occurred the night of October 18, 2009 in the 800 block of Sereno Drive in Vallejo, California. Maggard was struck by a 79-year-old male driver. He was apparently crossing near a supermarket where there was no designated crosswalk, police said. The driver has not been charged pending an investigation.

Orange County Car Accident Kills 80-year-old Bicyclist

Edelgard Owens, 80, was killed in an Orange County car accident after her bicycle was struck by a pickup truck the evening of October 21, 2009. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Owens was riding on East Imperial Highway when she got in the crosswalk in an attempt to cross Prospect Avenue in Yorba Linda, Brea police officials said. At the time, a pickup truck was turning left from Imperial on to Prospect and crashed into Owens. She was taken to a local hospital where she died.
